Evaluation of Unexplained Lymph Node Enlargement in the Head and Neck
Enlarged or palpable lymph nodes in the head and neck area are common—most often harmless, but occasionally a sign of a more serious underlying condition. For this reason, a precise yet gentle diagnostic approach is essential.
At our ENT practice in Rodenkirchen, we offer specialized diagnostics for evaluating unclear lymph node swellings. We rely on state-of-the-art ultrasound technology, allowing for high-resolution, painless, and risk-free assessment—without exposure to radiation from CT scans or cone-beam CT (DVT).
If tissue sampling is necessary to establish a diagnosis, we perform targeted, minimally invasive fine-needle or core needle biopsies directly in our practice—often even without local anesthesia. The collected samples are analyzed histologically or cytologically, and in most cases results are available within just a few days.
